Your Donation Could Save A Life
Here at the Community Medical Clinic, we believe everyone should have access to quality medical care. We're a non-profit clinic providing free medical care and medication to our patients while also leading a collaborative effort in Kershaw County to build a healthier community for us all.
CMC has a three-pronged approach to creating a healthier Kershaw County.
Direct Medical Services
We provide direct medical services to those in Kershaw County who cannot afford to see a doctor.
Connecting Resources
We also understand that healthcare isn’t the only factor to a person leading a healthy life, so we work diligently to help connect individuals to needed community resources.
Improving Population Health
And finally, we are leading the charge to improve population health through our Livewell Kershaw Coalition.
Health is MORE than just healthcare
The loss of a job, a divorce or the death of a loved one is difficult for us all. But for most of our patients, they are one traumatic event away from just getting by to living in poverty. Usually one of these scenarios leads a person or family through the Community Medical Clinic’s door to ask for help.
Once here, we offer hope and support to help our patients navigate these tough situations. While our clinical staff provides medical care and medications, our Access Kershaw team works to connect our patients with other resources, like access to food, clothing, and housing, which are all vital parts of living a healthy life.
For more than two decades, your support of CMC has provided hope when our community needs it most. With the help of our donors, volunteers, and partners, we are proud to pave the path to better health for every resident of Kershaw County, regardless of their financial means or back story.
COVID-19 Update
Patient Impact:
In the midst of this pandemic, we are connecting with our patients on a new level.
We are dedicated to finding new ways to connect with our patients and these new ways of operating have opened up new conversations with our patients. The more we know about the patient, the better we are able to partner with them and help them better their health!
Clinical Impact:
CMC patients are still being treated at our main office located in Camden.
Due to COVID-19 we have temporarily suspended operations at our church satellite locations and our school-based health centers.
Financial Impact:
During these unpredicted times, CMC has committed $81,000 towards additional supplies, facility updates, and patient services to maintain our responsibility of keeping people out of the emergency room. We feel strongly that these commitments were necessary to ensure the safety of our community.
Renovations to our facilities to keep our staff and patients safe such as an updated HVAC filter system and UV sanitation equipment.
Pager system so that patients can safely wait in their vehicles instead of our waiting room.
Additional supplies for patients to bring home (such as blood pressure cuffs and glucometers) to ensure they can properly communicate updates on their health to our staff.
Volunteer Impact:
Our highly-trained clinical staff continues seeing patients while following CDC guidelines and procedures to reduce the risk of coronavirus exposure. We are unable to open the clinic to on-site volunteers for the remainder of the year. The safety of our on-site volunteers is of vital importance to us – as such, volunteer opportunities are limited.
Consider a Gift
For every 1$ donated, CMC can provide $12.50 worth of medical care to our patients.
